Stand by Me is a coming of age tale about a group of four boys who set out to find the dead body of a boy from a nearby town. The film is based on Stephen King’s 1982 novella titled The Body, which inspired screenwriter Bruce A. Evans to adapt the book into a film almost immediately after reading it.
