According to a 2015 study in the International Journal Of Comparative Psychology, researchers familiarized multiple pigs with a mirror and food bowl. After this, they put the bowl in an area that the pigs couldn’t see on their own but could see through the mirror. Out of the eight pigs familiarized with the mirror, seven of them used the mirror to find the bowl’s location. This is only one case where pigs have demonstrated well-rounded intelligence that either matches or eclipses that of dogs.
