Retry Correct Incorrect According to Ultimate Classic Rock, famed producer Robert “Mutt” Lange had written “We Both Believe In Love” in the late ’70s and was recorded by English rock band Supercharge. However, when his old friend Huey Lewis needed a hit for his struggling new band, Lange gave him the song. After Lewis rewrote it and changed its title to “Do You Believe In Love,” the song became a hit powerful enough to hit number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and set the stage for the band’s powerhouse follow-up, Sports.
