Retry Correct Incorrect According to Wide Open Country, Boudleaux Bryant wrote “Love Hurts” for the Everly Brothers, and it helped propel their album A Date With The Everly Brothers to number nine on the Billboard album charts in 1960. But while Roy Orbison and Cher did record their own versions, neither was as successful as Nazareth’s wailing rock cover in 1975. Their rendition cracked the top ten on the U.S. singles chart and charted worldwide.
