According to The Independent, the Rolling Stones visited Chicago’s Chess Studios and heard The Valentinos’ “It’s All Over Now.” After their manager Andrew Loog Oldham secured the recording rights, the Stones cut their own version that quickly eclipsed the original on the Billboard Hot 100. By June of 1964, it would become the Rolling Stones’ first number-one hit in their native U.K.
